White Elephant Gifts

Why are they called "White Elephant Gifts"? I am not sure but it's a fun
way to exchange gifts and get a good laugh! Many of you know Mike and
I are Youth Leaders at our church. Wed. night we went carolling around
our little town (an annual thing) and then came back to our house for our
christmas party. We told everyone to bring a white elephant gift. For
those of you who have never done this, a white elephant gift is pretty much
a gag gift, but more fun b/c you get to pick things that are not new. Some
of these pictures show what the kids came up with but some other ideas are
a half used bottle of shampoo or hairspray, dirty socks with holes in them,
a half burnt candle, just things laying around the house or in your attics
that you have no use for. It is fun to see what people come up with :)
